Spofforths Chartered Accountants proudly handed a cheque for more than £1,300 over to St Barnabas on 12th May 2010. The firm raised the funds by organising a charity tenpin bowling event in April, all in aid of the St Barnabas Building a Dream appeal. Twenty teams of three took part in the event at Worthing Bowl on Marine Parade.
The funds will go towards rebuilding the hospice which has been housed in the same building for nearly 40 years. The new hospice is being developed on Titnore Lane, nearby to the Spofforths office on Yeoman Way, Worthing. The accountants and professional advisers support the build as it will give patients and their families greatly improved levels of privacy and dignity in a ‘home from home’ environment.
Mariann Johnson, Marketing Officer for St Barnabas, said: “We are so grateful to Spofforths for their very generous donation of over £1,300 towards our Building a Dream appeal for the new hospice. We are really looking forward to being able to invite them to our new home as they are going to be near neighbours of ours! Having the help of our local businesses makes such a difference and we are delighted to have Spofforths support.”
