Kevin worked as an audit manager in Arthur Andersen's mid-market Business Advisory division and has dealt with a wide range of businesses, principally private companies and owner managed businesses, including property, manufacturing, retail, support services, healthcare and technology based companies, professional partnerships and charities.
In 1998 Kevin expressed an interest in performing transaction support work and during the next four years with Andersen worked on a variety of business acquisitions, disposals, mergers, fund raisings and listings. He has experience in dealing with fully listed, AIM and OFEX companies and worked on three potential mergers between large professional practices. In 2001 Kevin was selected to manage a project to consider whether the UK firm of Andersen should become a Limited Liability Partnership and also to manage a due diligence exercise on potential merger partners for the firm. Kevin has also completed several due diligence assignments for private equity houses seeking to invest in private companies.
Kevin has lived all his life in Sussex, going to school in Billingshurst where he still lives with his wife and two daughters. Kevin graduated from Oxford University in 1991 with a degree in Metallurgy and Science of Materials, but promptly chose a career in accounting. He trained with Binder Hamlyn in their Old Bailey office and remained in that office when Binder Hamlyn was acquired by Arthur Andersen at the end of 1994. Kevin joined Spofforths in December 2002.
Kevin plays football for a local team in the West Sussex league and is trying (with limited success) to learn to hit a golf ball straight. However, if he wins the lottery, Kevin intends to become a professional eight ball pool player.
