spofforths encourage clients to plan for success

‘Sowing the seeds for successful succession’ will be the main topic for discussion at a seminar, to be held at the Arundel Wetland Centre, later this month. Consultants from Spofforths, a leading independent firm of Chartered Accountants in Sussex, are inviting clients from the agricultural industries to attend the event on 27th May and learn how to take advantage of the current economic climate. The firm is co-hosting the seminar with Savills and Landmark Business Software Solutions.

The hosts will welcome clients from across the South East and event speakers plan to help those who are suffering from the credit crunch, by offering expert advice on how to work through it with practical planning. Topics will cover family assets, tax tips and the English land market. The seminar will include presentations from a number of thought provoking speakers to include Adrian Pearce, Spofforths agriculture specialist, who will focus on cultivating capital tax savings.

Philip Lansberry, a consultant for the private client division at Spofforths, will speak on wills and trusts. Mr Lansberry recently joined the firm and commented: “The seminar provides a great opportunity for clients to gain knowledge on how to review their financial planning and also meet with experts who can offer advice on their personal circumstances. I’m delighted to be taking part in the event which is designed to promote forward thinking, a sure way to aid future success.

“I look forward to introducing our guests to the services that we can provide through our new private client division. Spofforths now offers an extensive portfolio of services to include the provision of wills, powers of attorney, trusts and estate administration. We are one of the first accountancy practices in the South East to offer this package and I’ll be able to discuss the benefits in more detail during the seminar.”

Following the presentations, there will be an opportunity for all those in attendance to talk to the speakers and their colleagues over a glass of wine. They will also be able to enjoy the beautiful setting at Arundel Wetland Centre, located on Mill Road in Arundel. It has 26 hectares of naturalised landscapes and wetland habitats holding many hundreds of exotic wildfowl from around the world.
