spofforths raise over £1,000 for horsham district branch of age concern
Despite the somewhat macabre nature of the after dinner talk delivered by renowned expert David Briffett on our local acid bath murderer, John Haig, the evening was a rip-roaring success. David's blood curdling talk had everyone sitting on the edge of their seats. It was preceded by a sumptuous two-course dinner and no doubt due to the content most guests fortified themselves with an extra glass of wine from the bar.
Thanks to the wonderful generosity of everyone who bought tickets we have raised over £1,000 for the Horsham District Branch of Age UK. And many many thanks to all those who volunteered to make the evening such a huge success.
Watch this space. Future events will include 'Antiques Road Show', 'The Titanic' and 'Chinese New Year'. I do hope to see as many as possible of you all in the future.
